Story created Jan 29, 2007 - 11:08:17 EST. ST. IGNACE - The Sault JV volleyball team bested the field at the St. Ignace Volleyball Tournament on Saturday. The Sault finished first in pool play, beating Rudyard 25-18 and 25-14, St. Ignace 25-18, 25-9, and the Escanaba freshmen 25-12, 25-5.

The Mayo volleyball program now has its first victory. The Redbirds split a pair of matches Thursday night against visiting Chrisman with the eighth graders taking the first ever victory for Mayo. The Redbirds needed three games for the win, but came out on top by the score of 25-18, 17-25, 25-19.
